The Challenge
From combat exposure to high-stakes environments, active-duty and veteran professionals often endure significant physical and emotional stress. Unfortunately, this can lead to struggles with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
- 5.2 million veterans battle behavioral health challenges, including mental health conditions and substance abuse [SAMHSA, 2020].
- 1 out of 4 veterans has co-occurring PTSD and substance use [PTSD: National Center for PTSD].
- 30% of veterans face difficulties adjusting to the transition back into civilian life, compounded by stigma and a lack of timely resources [Pew Research Center].

Our Steps to Recovery
Medical Detox
Medical detoxification removes substances from your body while managing withdrawal symptoms with medication(s) with 24-hour medical supervision. Our doctors create a custom plan based on your medical history to ensure the process is safe, efficient, and comfortable.
Inpatient Residential
In inpatient treatment, you will live on-site with around-the-clock care. This stage is the most intensive, focusing on uncovering and addressing the root causes of your addiction and mental health challenges. Every day, your schedule consists of 6 hours of intensive therapy. What you and our clinicians discover will be treated during this and future programs, helping you gain insight and freedom.
Partial Hospitalization
During partial hospitalization, you’ll work on building skills that retrain your brain’s reward system to cope without drugs or alcohol. Substances may offer quick relief, but once the effects fade, nothing changes. To support long-term sobriety, you will learn delayed gratification—a skill that brings long-term rewards and a more fulfilling future.
Intensive Outpatient
In intensive outpatient, you’ll begin rebuilding your life as a sober individual. It’s a challenging and rewarding process, supported by mentorship, therapy, and a network of your peers. While staying in a sober living environment or at home, you’ll attend sessions at our outpatient facility 2-3 times a week to continue your recovery maintenance. Our flexible therapy sessions are designed to fit your schedule and responsibilities.
Outpatient
In this final step, you’ll learn how to balance life and recovery. With a strong sober support network from your journey and local recovery program, you have a solid foundation. Outpatient care focuses on what you enjoy, what makes you happy, your values, and the personal goals you’re working toward. In general, what do you want your life to look like? This question will be easier to answer now, as your perspective has shifted and your confidence is restored. At this stage, we support and challenge you to keep growing as you pursue your goals. Congratulations on your recovery!

At the heart of our mental health and addiction treatment programs is clinical excellence. To help veterans recover from substance abuse and mental health conditions, we provide a range of therapies, clinical direction, and daily detailed clinical meetings to establish each client’s progress and current struggles.
Around 41% of veterans report a potential need for behavioral health care for conditions like PTSD, depression, and substance use disorders. As a dedicated behavioral health treatment provider, Aliya provides treatment for veterans struggling with substance use disorders and traditional mental health disorders.
Family therapy is a building block of our mental health and substance abuse programming for veterans. We facilitate in-person and virtual family therapy sessions for spouses, significant others, parents, children, and siblings. We strongly encourage participation in family therapy for loved ones who are able and healthy enough to have involvement in the treatment process.
Introducing the group therapy model early in treatment helps us to lay the groundwork for our veteran clients to anticipate support from healthy, reciprocal relationships. We nurture this understanding throughout our programs. Building a network of support provides veterans with connection, socialization, motivation, advice, relatability, interpersonal effectiveness, accountability, and much more.
We help veterans build a strong recovery program. For those seeking mental health support, we connect them with NAMI Organizations and Affiliates, which offer free mental health support and education. For veterans recovering from addiction, clients can choose a 12-step program (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous) or alternatives like Refuge Recovery, Recovery Dharma (Buddhist-based), SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery (Christian-based), and more.
Our mission is to prepare you for lasting success in recovery by the time you complete our program. We help veterans build essential life skills through workshops on nutrition and financial management. Our vocational services support you in finding employment, returning to a previous job, or enrolling in college or trade schools. We also empower you to advocate for your health. Every step of the way, we’re here to support your journey toward a brighter future.

By joining the Valor Program, you’ll gain access to all the comprehensive resources and expert care necessary to rebuild your sense of resilience, purpose, and joy. You’ve given so much in service to others. Now it’s time to take the first step toward healing for yourself.
